Privacy Policy

Version from the 30th of August 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the DXF Viewer application (hereinafter - the Application, we) handles your information. DXF Viewer is a CAD drawing viewer designed to open, view, and measure DXF files directly on your device. We do not require an account and we do not sell your data. Your drawings are processed on your device and are never uploaded to our servers. The free version of the Application shows ads and offers a subscription that unlocks the full feature set.

1. Data stored on your device

1.1. All of your drawing data — the DXF files you open, measurements, angles, pen annotations, layer and view settings, and your preferences — is processed and stored locally on your device. This data is not uploaded to our servers and is not accessible to us.

1.2. Exports and shares (for example, a snapshot of the canvas or a printed drawing) are created only when you explicitly request them, and the result is handed to the destination you choose (for example, the system share sheet or printer). We never receive a copy of your drawings.

1.3. Deleting the Application from your device deletes its local data, including your annotations and settings.

2. File access and permissions

2.1. The Application uses your device's document picker (and, on Android, storage access) to open the DXF files you choose. Files are read only when you select them, and only for viewing and measurement.

2.2. The Application does not request access to your camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, or location. On iOS, the only system permission prompt besides file access concerns advertising (see Section 4).

3. Anonymous identifier and purchases

3.1. The Application generates a random, anonymous identifier on your device. It is not derived from your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal information — we never collect those. The identifier is used solely to manage your subscription status and the features it unlocks.

3.2. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play Billing, depending on the store where you downloaded the Application, and managed with RevenueCat, a subscription management service. We receive only anonymous purchase information (such as the product purchased and the subscription status) — never your payment details. RevenueCat processes this data according to its own privacy policy.

3.3. Because it is the store's responsibility to resolve refund issues, we may share anonymous information about your use of the Application with Apple Inc. or Google LLC, depending on the store where you downloaded the Application, in connection with refund requests.

4. Advertising

4.1. The free version of the Application displays ads served by Google AdMob (banner ads, and rewarded ads that can temporarily unlock paid features). AdMob may use a device advertising identifier (such as Apple's IDFA or the Android advertising ID) and information about the ads you see to deliver and measure ads.

4.2. On iOS, before any tracking we ask for your permission through the system App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, ads still appear but are non-personalized. Subscribing unlocks the paid features of the Application without requiring you to watch rewarded ads.

4.3. Google processes this data according to its own privacy policy.

5. Usage data and analytics

5.1. To understand how the Application is used and to improve it, we record anonymous usage events — such as when the app is opened, when the file picker is shown or canceled, whether a drawing parsed successfully, and how often paywalls and rewarded ads are shown — together with technical details like the file format and operation duration. We also receive crash and error reports when something fails. These events contain no drawing content, measurements, or file names that could identify your designs.

5.2. Analytics are processed by PostHog, a product analytics service hosted in the European Union, under your anonymous identifier. Information about your purchases is combined with usage events solely to measure and improve the Application. PostHog processes this data according to its own privacy policy.

6. What we do not collect

7. Data retention and deletion

7.1. Your drawings and settings live only on your device and are retained until you delete them or remove the Application.

7.2. Anonymous analytics events and purchase records associated with your anonymous identifier are retained by our service providers only as long as needed to provide and improve the Application.

8. Children's privacy

8.1. The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security

9.1. All communication between the Application and our service providers uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Your local data is protected by your device's operating system security, including device encryption when enabled.

10. Changes to this Policy

10.1. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is posted on this page, and the date of the latest revision is indicated at the top. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

11. Contact

11.1. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please contact us through the store from which you downloaded the Application. On the Apple App Store, use the App Support link on the Application's product page (or the Report a Problem feature in your account). On Google Play, use the contact options on the Application's store listing. Refund requests are handled directly by the respective store.
